However, and although the function has been revealed, there are still many doubts in the air. One of the main ones is to understand how the audio will be quiet and returned to voice. According to the source, the audio must be sent to an external server for transcription. However, the audio does not go through Facebook, but Apple will process it and return the transcript. However, the details about this processing, privacy, permissions, etc … have not been disclosed.
The transcription of the voice memos will be displayed on the screen as long as they have been successfully processed. Keep in mind that this is an optional function but that it will undoubtedly be very useful for many users, who will be able to know at a glance what a voice note can take longer to tell us. Once again, we do not know if Android will receive this novelty simultaneously or it will arrive exclusively on the iPhone.
